BL Harbert’s Chuck Bohn Shares the Challenges and Triumphs of International COnstruction

This week the Rotary Club of Birmingham welcomed Chuck Bohn, President of BL Harbert's International Group. He provided an overview of the global construction company, known for its expertise in federal design-build projects and its distinguished portfolio of diplomatic facilities. He discussed challenges faced around the world and the importance of cultural sensitivity and diplomacy that have allowed the team to deliver high-profile projects across more than 60 countries with a contract value in excess of $10 billion.

Bio for Chuck Bohn

Charles A. Bohn is the President of the International Group at BL Harbert International (BLHI), a global leader in construction, known for its expertise in federal design-build projects and its distinguished portfolio of diplomatic facilities. Bohn joined the Harbert Organization in 1988 on a project at Kwajalein Atoll, in the Marshall Islands. With over three decades of international construction experience, his deep understanding of cultural sensitivity and diplomacy has been instrumental in delivering successful projects for clients such as the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, USAID, the U.S. Department of State, and numerous Fortune 500 companies.

 

Bohn’s visionary leadership has been pivotal in shaping BLHI’s global operations. Promoted to Vice President of International Operations in 2004 and named President of the International Group in 2011, he has overseen the company’s expansion and diversification, resulting in the execution of high-profile projects across more than 60 countries with a contract value in excess of $10 billion.  Currently, BLHI’s International Group manages 19 large-scale projects in 15 different countries, at various stages of completion.

In his spare time, Bohn enjoys travelling the globe and collecting art with his wife, Teri.  Together, they have resided in 12 different countries and travelled to more than 100 countries around the globe.
